SECOND YEAR CAPSULE COLLECTION

Whilst visiting Bratislava in Slovakia, I was walking through the Old Town and I saw various buildings that had layers of peeling paint and ruins. The decaying beauty of the buildings inspired me to create my designs, being particularly captivated in the details within nature and the natural decaying process.

This collection is based on the “ugliness” within nature, questioning if it is truly beautiful. I’ve found throughout this project that natural forms look quite knit-like therefore I had the inspiration to include knit. These forms can be refined and naturally perfected or in contrast, they are disfigured and this contrast is curiously fascinating. There is also a reoccurring theme of layers within nature and I wanted to highlight this within my designs.
